From the creator:
Motiva gave me the perfect opportunity to highlight a project dear to me: EMiD (Every Mind is Different), a multidisciplinary art project aimed at raising awareness for mental health through art therapy. Initiated by my brother, Bogdan Chipara, in 2021, EMiD seeks to address the pressing need for better support and understanding of mental health issues. As a type and graphic designer I believe that art and design should ask questions and try to find solutions to different problems.
Considering that 1 of 5 people struggle with mental distress it can only mean that we have to find better ways to help each other. The question that EMID poses: if we are all different, could art help us express our feelings and give us some comfort with our struggles?
The idea was to combine a digital drawing entitled Janelle, with a brush typeface, as if this character would write directly on the art piece. Janelle is a representation of a woman staring directly at the viewer and inviting them to interact with her world, her mind throughout different quotes related to art therapy.
